313.events is both an aggregator and a small editorial operation. Here's how the two fit together, and how to request a correction.
Most of what you see on 313.events — the calendar, the map, individual event pages — is aggregated: pulled in automatically from organizers, venues, and public event sources, or submitted directly by organizers and the public. Including an event in that aggregation is not an endorsement or editorial judgment about it; it simply means we found it and it fits the site's Detroit-area coverage area.
"On the Radar" is 313.events' editorial component: a curated collection of local press coverage of Detroit-area events, pulled from outlets we track — Metro Times, WDET, BridgeDetroit, and others. Deciding which coverage to surface there, and linking it to the right event, is an actual editorial choice, distinct from the automated aggregation everywhere else on the site.
If you're an organizer or venue and something about your listing is wrong, you can request a correction. We aim to handle factual corrections transparently and promptly.
313.events does not currently run paid placements, sponsored listings, or paid editorial coverage. If that changes, any sponsored or paid material will be clearly labeled as such, near the content itself — not buried on a legal page — and paid placement will never secretly determine what we choose to cover editorially. Our editorial judgment on "On the Radar" and elsewhere remains independent of any advertising or sponsorship relationship.
